Ballet Recital Barbie and Kelly Gift Set-NRFB-1997-great ballerina gift!

This is a Ballet Recital Barbie and Kelly doll gift set, from 1997 and would make a wonderful gift for your favorite ballerina or anyone who loves ballet!

Barbie and her little sister Kelly are on stage in their matching pink sparkly tutus with arm ruffles. Their ballet costumes are sprinkled with silver glitter and have silver trims as well. Click the picture to see a larger view of it.

Barbie is wearing a beautiful silver tiara, which in fact would make her look very regal as a princess in my Princess Gown like Belle's .

For practice before or after the big performance, Barbie and Kelly can wear their ballet practice skirts. Kelly's soft ballet slippers are removeable (I remember, my daughter had this same set when she was younger) but Barbie's toe shoes are part of her. They both are wearing translucent ballet tights too. Barbie has a fully poseable body so you can pretend she is dancing and you can pose her in all the ballet positions.

The back of the box tells a little of the history of ballet. For instance, did you realize that ballet was born in Italy even though the language of ballet is French? Illustrations on the back show the five basic feet positions and the arabesque and ballet curstsey as well.
