Barbie and Ken's graduation outfit fits either one of them.
That's right! My mother just finished this up as a Barbie outfit, in fact the pattern is for a Barbie doll. Then I got asked about a Ken grad set so out of curiosity, she tried the outfit on a Ken doll she happened to be using as a model for another project I sent her. It fits both dolls!
This outfit will be made when you order. That way I can be sure the colors are correct and also the color of Barbie or Ken's graduation cap tassel.
The cap and gown will be made of your school's main color which you'll select in the first pull down menu. Then in the second one, you'll choose your school's accent color or specify "no other color" which means Mom will make the tassel the same color as the cap and gown. Tassels are made from embroidery floss unless I can find more of some miniature tassels that I had found. Mom like to make the tassels out of both school colors as shown in the picture.
Please allow at least 3 weeks when ordering. My mother also does alterations so it's possible she may have a stack of those she would currently be working on. She will get to your order as soon as possible though and get it to me for mailing to you.
Since Mom is in charge of the Barbie and Ken grad sets, she has come up with a very nice way to do the cap liner. She used to make goose clothes (for cement geese not real ones) and just took the idea she used for that grad cap and reduced it.
The Barbie or Ken graduation cap and gown set can be ordered in classic black or in just about any color you'd want. If your school's color is not listed, please call me or contact me . Some people like to get one Barbie and Ken graduation set done in each of their school colors just like the real students would wear. The girls usually wear the lighter color if your school has two colors. This would make a really nice display at a grad party if you had a Barbie and a Ken doll wearing the graduation robes that my Mom creates for you.
Please note: This Barbie or Ken graduation outfit only includes one cap and gown. The picture you see is two separate photos that were "stitched" together in my photo editor. This way I could use just the one outfit I had before I mailed it out to the customer who asked for it.
Also, my dolls Steven and Olivia are not part of the sale either. They're anxiously awaiting their own graduation and you can tell Steven's getting antsy for the beach because he has his Cali beach outfit on underneath his robe--he forgot to slip on some shoes before modeling this grad set for you. He figured you'd understand since he's part of the Cali dolls collection, that it's cool to go barefoot in your grad robe.
To keep the caps on the dolls' heads, you can use a straight pin down the center of the cap. They can't feel it anyway! And it doesn't mess up their hair like the rough side of velcro would. You probably could use a piece of rolled tape inside if you get squeamish thinking about the pin idea.
To order: Select
cap and gown color, then type in your other school color. For example, for
green and gold, the gown would be solid green or solid gold and Mom will
make you a green and gold variegated tassel. You would type in: "green and
gold"
Or for a college degree, just
select black for the cap/gown and type in the one color you know the tassel will be. She will
make the tassel one solid color for you.
